This school photograph was found in the scrapbook of Anna Harlin Fleischman, who grew up near Eden, WI. It's about 1914-15, but not sure of time.
Does anyone recognize any of these students. Please comment or email if you can confirm that this school was near Eden.
Francis Harlin (b. 1925) is 2nd row from the left & 3rd from the front. I think it was from 1934.
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother and siblings were in school during this timeframe. 30s seems more accurate. Their last name was Meier and attended the one room school in Empire called Hillcrest. Empire is encompassed by Eden. I’m curious if the school name. I want to say Bernard Halbur is in the second row from the left, third boy back, mostly black clothing, and that there’s possibly Jack Meier in the photo as well but unsure.

This photo was the Ethan Allen School from 1933-1934. Row 1 left to right along the wall was labeled "Wm. Whitty - Jane Flood - Jeanette Lloyd - Gladys Kobe"; Row 2 was labeled "Mae Ryan - Fred Kober
- Francis Harlan - Dean Grinnel - Lucille Meier-Elsie Klatt" ; Leo Murphy is the teacher in the back;
Row 3 was labeled "Bernice Flood - Raymond Ryan
- Vivian Loomis - Thomas Flood - Beverly Hanke
- Ambrose Murphy"; Row 4 was labeled " Jerome Flood - Vivian Flood - Vernon Flood - Coletta Flood - Evelyn Rober." Courtesy of Carol Murphy's collection. Labeling came from a previous source, and the Kobe/Kober/Rober referenced children might be a misspelling of the same family members.
